FAQ

The Australian government launched the Tuition Protection Service (TPS) to help international students whose educational institutions are unable to fully deliver their programme of study. Please visit the Tuition Protection Service website at www.tps.gov.au for further information.

By checking the appropriate box on the enrollment application form, you can request credit transfer or recognition of prior learning (RPL) at the time of application. At the time of enrollment, Solis Admissions will give you a Credit Transfer or RPL form. To get course credit, you must present the original transcripts. At the time of enrollment, the manager of Academics will approve your request for course credit or RPL. Based on the course credit or RPL awarded, your itinerary and course length will be modified, and your COE will be produced as necessary.

Solis often waives the charge for units transferred via course credit or RPL. However, there can be an administrative fee associated with it.

Students can access our student portal to view their findings, visit with their trainer in person, or contact student services at Info@soliscollege.sa.edu.au.

Through the Institute's complaints and appeals process, which is posted at Policies & Procedures, students may submit a free academic appeal.

When taking an assessment, students are given two chances to get it right unless they are absent from class due to illness and provide a doctor's note with a date on it.

If you successfully completed your course and paid all fees, you are qualified to get your transcripts, certificates of attainment, and course completion letter.

You can apply for a deferment or suspension of your studies by filling out the appropriate form. In accordance with our deferral, suspension, and cancellation policy and procedure, which may be found under Policies and Procedures, Solis Institute will evaluate your application.

You will need to show that there are compelling or compassionate reasons that justify postponing or suspending your education.

The justifications for deferring or suspending while you're in school. When: A student may request to temporarily defer or halt their education.

There are situations that are genuinely compelling or sympathetic. Conditions that are compelling or compassionate include, but are not limited to:

  • Serious illness or injury that prevents the student from attending class, as stated on the medical record.
  • A close family member's death or serious illness (when feasible, a death certificate must be submitted); political unrest or a natural disaster in the student's home country that necessitated emergency travel and interfered with the student's education; and
  • A horrific event, such as taking part in a major accident or crime. Police or psychologist reports are required to back up every one of these cases.

Please note that a student cannot be assured a suspension or delay of studies even with the submission of medical and other supporting documents. Following the approval of your request for a deferral or suspension, you may purchase the airline ticket.

All student visas will be issued with employment permissions starting on April 26, 2008. Please be aware that once you start your studies, you are allowed to work.

This allows you to view your visa information online and stores it electronically for access through the Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) service. After getting your permission, employers, governmental organisations, and educational institutions can access your current information.

For all overseas students, the student visa (subclass 500) permits the following requirement 8105: When your course is in session, you are not permitted to work more than 40 hours every two weeks (other than work which has been registered as a part of the course). A fortnight is defined as any 14-day period beginning on a Monday and concluding at the end of the second Sunday after that. During officially sanctioned vacation times that are provided by your school provider, you are permitted to work more than 40 hours each week. Before you begin your degree in Australia, you cannot begin paid work. If you are enrolled in an Australian Master's by research or Doctorate programme, there are no job restrictions. Visit https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/stud/more/visa-conditions/visa-conditions-students for additional information.

You must update your contact information with Solis within seven days of a change in order to comply with the terms of your visa. Fill out a change of address form at reception or online through the student portal to accomplish this.

You must visit a doctor for medical advice and receive a medical certificate. Your medical condition and the duration for which you are unable to attend classes must be stated in the medical certificate. It's best to let Solis know as soon as possible.

To discuss your options, you must contact student support services at Info@soliscollege.sa.edu.au and speak to one of the finance officers on staff.

Every student has a right to express any opinion that could influence their academics. We advise students to first speak with the individual or people they want to appeal to or file a complaint with. Otherwise, students have a few options: they can talk to student support services, email Info@soliscollege.sa.edu.au, fill out a form for a complaint or an appeal that is available on our website or on campus, or they can just leave comments in the box next to the student notice board. Please visit Policies and Procedures to access the policy and procedure for our complaints and appeals.
