From visa grant to Institute orientation – the following information will ensure your arrival in Australia is quick and easy. Please visit the Australian Government, Study Australia site for the latest information on student arrivals, travel and visas, including covid-19 vaccine information.
Assisted Housing
Living in managed housing is similar to renting a place of your own, but in a building that has been made especially for students. Unlike private rental properties, managed student housing typically comes fully furnished to spare residents from having to buy furnishings. A professional student housing firm manages them, offering you peace of mind, although they frequently want you to sign a rental agreement.
Purpose-built housing for students
Consider a student hotel. The accommodations were created with students in mind. close to campuses with top-notch amenities. Although kitchens, common areas, student facilities, and other amenities are not provided, the homes and rooms do.
Student Hostel
Student hostels, which are like share houses but are only for students, are scattered across Adelaide’s suburbs. You prepare your own meals, clean up after yourself, and handle bill payment.
Private Lease
When students self-manage, they sign a lease with a landlord or property owner. Maximum independence is provided via private rentals, where students are responsible for all food and utility expenditures, including those for gas, water, electricity, and the internet. Renting a property that is fully furnished, partially furnished, or unfurnished is an option.

The distance from Adelaide International Airport to the city centre is about twenty minutes by cab.
As you leave the main terminal, to the left, there is a dedicated taxi rank where you may easily find a taxi.
You will have to get in touch with Student Support Services at Solis College to organise the airport pickup service. you must submit the request to Solis at least 7 days before your arrival date in Australia .
We have included some information on how to prepare for your visit and what to anticipate when you come to Adelaide. We advise all foreign students considering attending Solis Institute to read this material before travelling to Australia.
Preparation for leaving entails:
Medication: Medication with a doctor’s prescription may be permitted for a brief period of time. You must list them on your passenger card.
Passport-size photos: You might need some photos when you arrive, so having your most recent photos on hand could be useful.
Personal documents: Bring a copy of your visa application paperwork as well as original or certified copies of your academic transcripts, including IELTS scores, work references, birth certificates, letters of offer, and eCoE. There should be an English translation of any documents not written in English. A page of translation might run you more than $35 AUD. Once you have boarded your flight, keep your enrolment letter, eCOE, and the contact information for your foreign office of education provider with you at all times.
Gather your passport, the letter granting you a visa, your airline ticket, and your health insurance information.
Have at least $500 in cash on hand: Before opening a bank account, you will need to pay cab fares with cash as well as for meals and other necessities when you first arrive. Please be aware that you must notify Customs if you are bringing more than $10,000 in cash into Australia (though we do not recommend you carry this much cash with you).
You must have access to AUD$2000 to AUD$3000 in traveler’s checks or bank draughts in your name, as well as have enough Australian currency in cash to cover your initial expenses.
Pack your travel bag. Make sure to pack appropriate clothing for the season you’ll be arriving. The summers in Adelaide are dry and hot (average daily maximum 28°C, minimum 16°C), while the winters are damp and chilly (average daily maximum 16°C, minimum 8°C). There is no dress code at Solis. On campus, most students dress casually, such as in jeans, t-shirts, shirts, sweaters, blouses, and sneakers. For important occasions, you might wish to bring some more formal attire in addition to any traditional clothing from your culture.
Bringing someone else’s bags: Never bring someone else’s items or baggage, as they can contain contraband. You will be responsible for it if you do so.
Check the details on Australian Customs and Quarantine: Australian biosecurity rules forbid the importation of particular foods and animal products. It’s crucial to know what you may and cannot carry into Australia to prevent penalties or visa problems. For further details on what you can bring (and mail) to Australia, consult the Australian Government’s Studying in Australia – Biosecurity handbook.
