Some of the learning methods students can expect to see are:

  • Practical in-class exercises and training scenarios

  • Assignments and project work, both in groups and working individually

How long will it take to complete the BSB50620 course?

Students will require 52 weeks to complete the BSB50620 diploma. This time period will cover all aspects of the course, from orientation and in-class time to holidays and final assignments.

How much time will I need to invest each week?

The Marketing & Communication diploma is a full-time course, and the training schedule will require a time commitment of around 20 hours a week from students. This includes class time, self-paced online learning, and assignment work.

Can I get RPL for subjects I've studied before?

If you find that you’ve already completed some of the training units of the BSB50620 diploma as part of another qualification, you should discuss it with our enrolments team. Under normal circumstances, you may be eligible for transfer of credit for those subjects.

Likewise, if you’ve previously worked in a related field or done on-the-job training that may overlap with some of the material covered in the course, you should discuss it with our team, as you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning (RPL).

In either case, this may mean you are not required to attend some of the training units for the course. This could potentially allow you to complete the course in a shorter time – although this will depend on scheduling for the remaining study units.

In addition, if you’ve been working in a related industry and have training or experience closely aligned with the content of the course, you might be eligible for recognition of prior learning (RPL) for some course content.

In either case, you should talk about it with our enrolments team and discuss your options.

Pathways to employment

The Diploma of Marketing & Communication is an excellent choice for enhancing your career prospects, as it can be applied in a very wide range of circumstances. Graduates may choose to work at a specialised marketing firm, but it’s also a field that has applications in almost every industry – there are very few large companies out there that don’t have a marketing department.

Whether you’re looking to work in heavy industry, e-commerce, or a not-for-profit supporting communities in the third world, all of them benefit from skilled marketing personnel.

If you’re already established in an industry or have training in another field, marketing training can supercharge your career and open up new opportunities – or allow you to do what you’re doing better. Even small business owners may not be able to afford to employ marketing staff, but with the right training, they might not need them. For those in larger companies or industries, skills in effective communication and promotions may be just what you need to take the next step in your career.

No matter what industry you’ve got your heart set on, a Marketing & Communication diploma can open doors for you.

What other courses could help me advance my career in this field?
