CHC50121 – Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

This advanced course provides students with the skills to work in early childhood education and care at a senior level, coordinating other staff and driving policy for their workplace. Students learn to manage relationships with family members, set learning goals, ensure workplace compliance, and monitor and support children’s development and wellbeing.

They use specialised knowledge and skills to overcome unexpected problems and support other staff to do the same. Graduates can work without direct supervision, and may be given responsibility for other industry professionals or volunteers.

If you’re considering a change of career or looking for a way to better your situation, the CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is an excellent option to consider. How much time will I need to invest each week?

The cert 3 early childhood education and care qualification is a full-time study course and requires a commitment of around 20 hours each week to attend classes, complete assignments, and work through self-paced online learning resources.

Also, students enrolling in the course will be required to undertake mandatory work placement of at least 160 hours in a professional early childhood industry setting. This will mean a larger time commitment from students – equivalent to working full-time for the duration of the placement.

Solis College provides assistance to students for finding a suitable work placement, and guarantees placements for students meeting the eligibility criteria.

Can I get RPL for subjects I've studied before?

If you’ve previously completed any of the training units included in the CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care qualification as part of another course, you should talk with our enrolments team about a credit transfer for those units of study. You may be able to receive credit for some of those units, which may mean you will not be required to attend them again. This may allow you to complete your studies sooner (depending on schedules).

There may be more flexibility with elective units than core units in regard to what units of study can count towards your course. 

In addition to this, if you have undertaken less formal training or worked in a field related to the CHC30121 course, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning. For example, if you have previously worked as a volunteer at a childcare centre, we may be able to grant recognition for things you will have learned in that context.
