Student Support Services

Due to the fact that they are living and studying in a foreign environment, international students need specific support services. For the sake of their international students’ emotional and physical health, Solis makes a number of services available.

With a monthly orientation programme, Solis gives all international students a crucial component of our support services. The subjects covered in this orientation programme include:

  • Services offered to help international students adjust to studying and living in Australia;
  • English language and academic support services;
  • Any necessary legal assistance;
  • Health and emergency services;
  • The resources and facilities of the registered provider;
  • Processing for appeals and complaints;
  • Requirements for attendance and development in the course, if applicable;
  • The assistance programmes exist to help international students whose personal or general circumstances are negatively limiting their ability to pursue an education in Australia;
  • Students from other countries can use services to learn about their job rights and circumstances as well as how to handle conflict at work, such as through the Fair Work Ombudsman.

Solis offers free access to a variety of services that are either provided internally or through access to reasonably priced external providers. These solutions could be:

  • services for English and academic help;
  • support for tutoring;
  • learning centres;
  • counselling and assistance with mental health;
  • career assistance;
  • services for housing and tenancy;
  • financial assistance; and
  • disability and health services.
